A loan of $375 helped hire day laborers.

Ida's story

Ida, 28, lives in her own house with her partner Cirilo, 31. They both wish to have a better quality of life. She is a hard-working woman, fully dedicated to grow cocoa in a plantation which she started more than 16 years ago and now harvests every season. In harvesting times, her partner and day laborers help her so she can collect the fruits quickly. What she likes most about her work is being able to have a good production and sell it at a good price in order to justify the expenses. She considers that it is hard to take the produce to the storage centers, located 30 minutes away from her community.
Ida’s goal now is to get rid of the weeds that affect her plants. This will be her fifth loan with MFP and she is very happy to have the loaners’ support. She is a responsible, supportive member of her communal bank. With this loan of 1,000 nuevos soles, Ida will hire day laborers to help her taking the weeds off her plantation.
