A loan of $375 helped to buy sacks of fertilizer.

Eugenia's story

Eugenia is a humble and cheerful 47 year old woman. She lives in her own home with her husband Prudencio, who is 64, and their 7 beloved children, to whom they want to offer a better quality of life. More that 30 years ago, Eugenia started to work in the fields. With her husband's help, they work the soil of their own field where they plant coffee. She is always careful with the crop that she has obtained with so much hard work. At harvest time, she has the support of laborers who know how to harvest coffee. This way, she picks the beans more quickly. Afterwards, she dries the coffee beans so that she can bring them to the wholesaler's center where she makes a good profit on each kilo of her product. In the future, she wants to buy land to plant more coffee in order to help with the household expenses and her children's education. This will be her 4th loan with MFP and she says she will make the payments on time. She is happy in her communal bank, since everyone supports each other. With the 1,000 nuevos soles, she will be able to buy sacks of fertilizer to maintain her crops.
