A loan of $525 helped to buy mil [African cereal] and mil flour to make couscous.

Diarra's story

Diarra is a 75 year old married woman and mother to 9 children. She has 4 grandchildren under her care. She is a member of the "banc villageois" of Kiwi since her first loan cycle. She belongs to the solidarity group And Jef. Diarra is a couscous seller which she makes herself. She has been practicing this business for a long time. This is why she has good experience in this domain. With her new 250,000 loan she is going to buy mil [African cereal] which she will make into couscous which she will resell retail in her village. Diarra tells us that the profits generated by her business will allow her to pay for food at home.
