Miryam's story

Miryam, 49, is a courageous single mother. She lives in her parents' home in the town of El Tambo, with her 2 children, Alexandra and Renato.

She started her business venture 17 years ago, which she has continued with until today. Miryam is a special woman, and fighting for her children drives her to progress. She has installed a soda fountain in her home, which is in a central location and this has proven an advantage for her business. Miryam works with a chef to prepare food 'on the go', and her food sales serve as an accompaniment to her sodas and beverages, according to customer orders and demand. Three years ago, Miryam made an important decision to remodel her business. Her customers now visit frequently, especially on weekends because her business has become a popular entertainment choice.

Miryam's eldest daughter is studying law, as Miryam did, which gives her the incentive to succeed. Miryam is a lawyer by profession and has established a counseling office on the second floor of her house. She has many clients, including governors of different cities who pay her for her work. She has recently started this project and hopes to be recognized as one of the best lawyers in town.

She belongs to the solidarity group "Porvenir 2 de Mayo" and this is her ninth loan with MFP. She hopes their cooperation so that she can pursue her goals. Miryam promises to comply with the payment schedule. She likes to be part of the communal bank because all members are responsible and united. Miryam will invest the loan in buying cookware for her business, and also to make the initial payment for a computer to use in her office.
