A loan of $1,125 helped to hire day laborers.

Crisanta's story

Crisanta, 43, is a single mother with five children. Together they live in their own home located in the district of Pichari. Crisanta is an enthusiastic and hardworking mother. She has devoted herself to the cultivation of cocoa from a very early age. She learned this work from her parents who always worked in the fields. She also has a small business buying and selling products such as cocoa, coffee and other products. In this way she tries to earn a living in order to offer wellbeing to her dear family. The products she stores along with her harvests are transported to the city of Ayacucho where they pay her a good price. Further along Crisanta is thinking of continuing to grow cocoa, but her greatest wish is to grow as a warehouser since these products see greater demand in the national and international markets.

This is her fourth loan with MFP and so she commits to paying off the loan on time. She is grateful to her communal bank because they are supportive. With the 3,000 Peruvian soles she will weed her field of cocoa, hiring day laborers to do the work.
