A loan of $750 helped to buy more cacao plants.

Nelly's story

Nelly is 40, and devotes herself with much love to her husband Marcelino, who is 54, and to their six children. They live in their own house located in the community of Palmapampa. Nelly is a very hard-working woman, whose main livelihood is growing and harvesting cacao.

Her products are sold in the local collection centers. She started in this work 20 years ago, and feels happy doing something that she likes. The hardest part is having to take her products from her small farm to the place where she sells them. But with her husband's help, she is managing to overcome these difficulties.

Her greatest wish is to buy a cargo motorcycle someday, but now Nelly's priority is to get good production, so that she can make her and her family's dreams a reality.

This will be her seventh loan with MFP, and she promises to make her installment payments on time, so that she can access another loan later. She is a very mild-mannered and responsible member of her communal bank.

With the 2,000 nuevos soles, she will buy cacao plants for increasing production on her crop land.
