Ya's story

Mrs. Ya F., 52 years old, is a cake seller in the Bei Village in the Chrung Comres I Sangkat in Phnom Penh City. She takes care of eleven children and earns about $3 a day. Her husband, Mr. Rim Ly, is a 59-year-old motorcycle taxi driver who earns about $2 a day. Her son, Mr.Ly Smeanglor, a bricklayer, and her daughter, Ms. Ly Mari, a garment worker, earn about $2 a day each. The other children are students. She previously successfully concluded a loan with HKL.

To increase income for her family, she is now requesting a loan of $1000 to expand her inventory of cakes. This loan will also help to pay for her children’s school fees and daily living expenses.
