Kirua Group's story

Athumani, who is in his mid 30s is married with one small son. He has been running a business of selling food for 10 years now. He works from 10.00 am to midnight and is able to make a fair monthly profit. This will be his 7th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to buy a fridge, build a small place in the market for selling his food and has paid back all his loans successfully. He wants a loan to buy a sack of Irish potatoes, some pieces of chicken, 10kilos of meat and to increase stock on the soft drinks to sell. His dream is to one day be able to start poultry. He will this loan with his loan group "Kirua" which has a total of 16 members who will hold each other accountable is paying beck their loans.
