A loan of $575 helped to buy soybean seeds for planting.

Clemente's story

Clemente is a very energetic and hard-working man of 38. He is the father of four school-age children, and lives with his wife in their own house. From an early age, Clemente learned to grow cacao, coffee and coca; these were the crops that his parents grew on their land. Twelve years ago, Clemente began to grow his own plants on the land that thanks to his efforts, he managed to buy with savings from his work.

Now, with the help of his wife and children, he heads to his small farm at a very early hour of the morning to inspect his crop. As well, he tells us that not only is it possible to grow cacao, coffee and coca, but also soybeans; they are a very profitable crop, because the local people themselves come to buy it.

This is why his greatest desire is to grow soybean plants, in order to have good income. In the future, he really wants to have a clothing store so his wife can work comfortably. This way, both will be working in their occupations, and thereby give their children a good education.

This will be his eighth loan with MFP, and he promises to once more be on time with his payments. With the 1,500 nuevos soles, he will buy soybeans for planting on his crop field.
