A loan of $900 helped to purchase grocery products for resale.

Guram's story

Guram, 36, lives in a small village in West Georgia with his family: wife – Eka, two daughters (14 and 11 years old) and parents. The main source of income for the family is agriculture, with Guram and Eka heading the family's business. They own a small dairy farm with two milk cows, and Eka produces cheese, selling on average 25 kg. each month. The family also grows citrus and maize on the family-owned 0.8 hectare plot of land. Guram’s father, a tractor driver, works seasonally in the village. The total average monthly income of the family is 700 Laris.

Guram, who plans to open a grocery store in the village as an additional source of family income, is requesting a start-up loan with which he will purchase grocery products for resale. Guram and Eka will work as salespersons in the store, and plan to purchase additional household goods to improve family living conditions, as well as finance the further education of their children.
