A loan of $1,100 helped buy ceramic goods.

Ángela Asunción's story

The members of the La Mocora Community Bank meet every other week in the La Mocora area of Colon in the city of Portoviejo, an area known for its hard-working people who work in agriculture and with livestock.

In this place we met Mrs. Ángela. She is 27 years old and separated, but with a 3 year old daughter. She is a great mother who, in addition to caring for her young daughter, also works in sales. She sells ceramic products like centerpieces, decorations, souvenirs, vases, and other items. She works every day selling her products from her home. She also works giving manicures from her home and in other homes. The ceramics she sells are bought from La Pila, a place where the best artisans work making items that are desired by the whole country. She has been doing this work for 6 years and it is going very well for her.

This loan is to buy more ceramic items. She has been in the community bank for 6 cycles and she likes it because the loans are a great help.

Her dreams are to keep moving forward and to give the best to her young daughter.
