A loan of $325 helped to buy fabric.

Berta Lidia's story

Berta Lidia, age 32, lives with her husband in the San Juan Bosco neighborhood of Cofradía, Cortes. She has two children, ages two and one.

Berta Lidia is a seamstress. She started her business with her own capital two years ago. She specializes in making bedding, furniture covers, and clothing. It was not difficult for her to start this business activity. She had experience from a previous job where she worked as a machine operator in a factory. The business has helped her lot to improve her income, and she has been able to reinvest in the business. She works six hours a day.

She has now decided to request her first loan for 6,000 lempiras to be able to stock up on fabrics. She will use the fabrics to make bedding, furniture covers, and unisex clothes.

Her goal is to buy one more machine for her shop. This way she will be able to provide her customers with more rapid service.
