A loan of $375 helped to buy educational books.

Evelyn Del Pilar's story

Evelyn is an Education teacher; she works at this every morning but her interest in this work goes beyond the work day which is why she decided to open a small business where she sells books, pamphlets, “Coquitos” [series of children’s literature] which are used to advance the education of Peruvian children and adolescents. She learned this business because when the school term started she noticed the need parents had so she decided to go into this business and she’s very happy with the results she’s obtained.

Evelyn is someone who very much enjoys “Pollo a la Brasa,” a popular dish in Perú that’s consumed usually on weekends as an evening snack.

Evelyn has been in this line of work for 12 years and tends to about 20 customers daily which means an income of about 30 soles approximately.

With help from Kiva lenders Evelyn will be able to buy more books and Coquitos which are the elements she currently needs to sell during the school term. This support will help her continue getting ahead and continuously improve her quality of life.
