A loan of $500 helped to buy used clothing.

Luisa Guadalupe's story

Luisa, a storekeeper by trade, sells used clothing in the city of León. She is 24 years old. In addition to working in sales she is in the second year of her degree program in systems engineering. She pays for her program with what she earns selling used clothes.

Her mother, who has worked selling general merchandise for 30 years, taught her to work in this job. Since she was 14 Luisa would go with her mother to Honduras to buy products to sell in Nicaragua where together they would go to sell to the towns of León. Her mother helped her set up her business selling used clothing, which she has had for a year and a half.

She got the loan to buy used clothing. Supplying her merchandise with different styles and sizes helps her to sell and earn better income by offering variety. Her main goal is to finish her degree program and to make her used-clothing store grow, to renovate it to have display cases, shelves, and mannequins, but she wants to do it little by little.
