A loan of $750 helped to purchase bags of fertilizer and tools for cultivating the land.

Grasiela's story

Grasiela, 43, is a kind and hardworking woman. She is married to Lester, 41, and has two children - Erlita is11 and Heidy is 13. They live together in their own home, where every day they share in the joy of being together and united, however they wish for a better quality of life.

Grasiela farms produce such as cocoa and corn. She has a very good market for both products as corn is sold to processing mills, and the cocoa to traders who then sell them to chocolate factories. She has a total of 9 acres, however she only uses 4 and therefore has more land for planting. She needs to fertilize this land to prepare it for use. Grasiela's seven years of experience have made her an expert in her work. For Grasiela, the most important thing is that her husband is always by her side to support her, as the work is done together as a team. They are doing well, but they want to grow more and provide a better life for their children, in both education and diet.

This will be Grasiela's third loan with MFP, and she is very happy to know that she has financial support which allows her to continue to increase her working capital. Furthermore, she is certain that she will remain a good member, and has been responsible for the loans received previously.

She likes belonging to the communal bank, because everyone is responsible and very supportive of each other. With the 2000 soles requested, Grasiela will buy manure to fertilize the rest of the land that is currently not in use, in addition to some materials and tools such as machetes and shovels.
