A loan of $450 helped to buy pigs.

Juan Jose's story

Juan is a farmer from the Chacaraseca community on the outskirts of León. He is 39, single and has been in agriculture for over ten years. He learned the trade from his parents who used to raise cattle and pigs. He planted his first crop when he was 19 and gained more experience before becoming independent from his father.

Currently, he is growing vegetables and basic grains as well as and raising pigs to sell. He has requested a loan to buy pigs since this is a business that generates a good income, which he uses to cover production costs and will invest in planting sesame, yucca and corn for the upcoming season. He also wants to increase the sale of pigs and cattle.
