A loan of $875 helped to buy supplies to plant pumpkin, corn and melon.

Darwing Alberto's story

Darwin, 25, is a farmer from León. He is married and has a 6-year-old son. At the age of 21 he became independent from his father and began growing vegetables on his own. It was difficult because he began with very little and growing vegetables requires a lot of capital. But in these four years he has been able to get ahead and support his family.

He is taking out a loan to buy supplies to plant pumpkin, corn and melon. He wants to diversify his crop and sell enough high quality produce to cover production costs and obtain enough profit to improve his family's lifestyle.
