A loan of $550 helped to invest in the purchase of more sweets, popsicles, gum, piñatas, and bags for sweets.

Maria Elena's story

Maria Elena is a hard-working and very responsible person. She is 28 years old and she is single. She has a candy shop, which she has had for more than 5 months.

She says that she decided to begin with this little business since she wanted to look for a way to support her parents with the household expenses. She is going to invest the loan that she receives in the purchase of more sweets, popsicles, gum, piñatas, and bags for sweets so that her business will be a little better stocked. Elena, as she is better known in her community, says that one of her goals is to make her little business grow even more, since she wants to expand her shop so that she can thus have a greater stock and greater variety of products and can then obtain greater income to be able to support her family. She is very happy because of this great help that FRAC and the Kiva lenders are offering her, since thanks to this, she now enjoys a better level of living and a good business.
