For the past seven years, 29-year-old Jane has been running a general merchandise retail shop in Kampala. Jane is married and is a dedicated mother of two children. At her outlet, she sells a variety of commodities from wheat, maize flour, beans, rice, cooking oil, bread, plastics, to pens.

On a weekly basis, she has sales returns of around UGX 100,000. She says she will bank on proceeds from the loan to purchase more retail goods for resale.
