A loan of $700 helped a member to buy seed for her farmland.

Pov's Group's story

Pov is 59 years old and lives in a rural area in the Thmor Koul district of Cambodia. She has four children, two of whom (one son and one daughter) are working. She is a farmer with a two-hectare lot. This is her main source of income but she also sometimes works for pay as extra income. She has been with these businesses for five years as a way to support her family. Pov joined VisionFund six loan cycles ago and has successfully paid back her loans to VisionFund. Since 2006, these loans have helped her keep farming and made is possible to buy household comforts for her family. Now, she earns around $8 per day and saves around $2.50 each day. Pov and her loan group member Chea are requesting another loan of KHR 1,400,000 each. As a leader, she will use this loan to buy rice seeds for her farmland. She hopes that this loan will allow her to earn a larger income so she can buy a new motorbike and keep helping her family live better.
