A loan of $1,500 helped to buy a new sewing and oversewing machine.

Nabat's story

Nabat is a 33 year old Iraqi woman, married and a mother of three children. Busy with house chores, she was baking bread at the time Relief International-Iraq staff visited her in her home. With the children now being old enough to attend school, she started to use her sewing skills to help bring in some income for the family.

She learned to sew at a young age, and for 2 years now she has been working from home on her old machine to meet customers needs and orders, making dresses and small household items. Nabat would like to buy a new sewing and oversewing machine to make her work more efficient and be able to provide different types of services, designs and be more creative with the orders. In order to make these purchases, Nabat a took a loan of 1,500 USD from Relief International-Iraq.
