A loan of $1,175 helped to buy a refrigerator that will allow her to preserve her prepared food until it's served.

Alejandra's story

Alejandra is a young mother of one son who is 3 years old, entrepreneurial and always disposed to getting ahead. Because the father of her son abandoned her, she has to guarantee sustenance for her son alone. She started looking for business alternatives, and found a good opportunity in food sales. Alejandra sells plates of food to the residents of her region, who have her cooking as reference for its excellent quality. Thanks to this activity, Alejandra generates the necessary income to support her son and, with it, can provide a good standard of living. Because she doesn’t have a refrigerator or freezer for storing perishable foods, she can only sell what she prepares in one day, as she can’t make her food earlier since it will spoil without refrigeration. Because of this, Alejandra has had to turn down some orders from customers and sell her food little by little so it doesn’t go bad. With the desire to improve this situation, Alejandra hopes that a loan will allow her to buy a refrigerator where she can preserve her prepared food until it’s served.

Alejandra hopes that this will allow her to augment her income considerably, since she’ll be able to tend to customers that she may have previously had to turn down. Alejandra dreams of having a large banquet house or restaurant. Her dreams include her son having financial stability and a good quality education in the future.
