A loan of $1,000 helped to buy 5 boxes of regular couscous, 5 boxes of "couscous en boulette", 5 boxes of millet flour, 20 kg of dried fish and 15 kg of smoked fish.

Marème's story

Marème lives with her 4 children. Her husband died 2 years ago. Marème exports local processed cereals and halieutic products to her sister who lives in Morocco and who, in turn, sends her fabrics. She has been in this line of work for a year and manages to earn consistent enough revenues to allow her to take care of her and her children´s needs.

Marème is requesting a loan of 500 000 francs to increase her working capital. She will use the loan to buy 5 boxes of regular couscous, 5 boxes of "couscous en boulette" (couscous dumplings), 5 boxes of millet flour, 20 kg of dried fish and 15 kg of smoked fish. Her ambition is to open a large processing plant in which to process the local agricultural produce.
