A loan of $875 helped to purchase more medicine for resale.

William's story

William is 42 years old and lives in the town of Mubende in the Mubende region of Uganda. He is married and has three children with one of them currently in school. For the past one year, William has been working hard to manage his health clinic, which sells medicine.

To help expand his business, William has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more medicine for resale and will help William to generate greater profits and pay school fees for his child. William hopes that in the future he will be able to expand his business into a bigger one.

William is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like William who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for micro-loans.
