Luzmila

Colombia
Bello, Colombia / Food Stall

A loan of $425 helped to buy supplies and materials for making her food such as containers, pans, small baskets and cooking utensils that she needs to replace.

Luzmila's story

Luzmila is a very hard-working person who has always been noted for wanting to provide her children with a better quality of life and better opportunities for making progress. Luzmila is married and the mother of four children. She also had a daughter who died when she already had a son of her own which made Luzmila a grandmother. She now also supports her grandson.

Luzmila and her husband sell food such as 'arepas de choclo' (Colombian corn cakes with cheese), empanadas, pies, gelatin desserts, etc. Thanks to this, she makes the income she needs to support her household. Luzmila sells her products every day. She provides home delivery in her neighborhood or in nearby neighborhoods. On weekends, she and her husband also set up outside a prison and sell food to people lining up to go in. Luzmila currently makes very good sales and, thanks to this, she has been able to guarantee the university education of two of her children. With the goal of continuing to carry out her business, Luzmila is looking for a loan which will enable her to buy supplies and materials that she needs for making her food such as containers, pans, small baskets and cooking utensils that she needs to replace.

Luzmila hopes to continue working in her business and hopes that it continues to grow until she is able to set up in premises where she can serve customers who visit her. Luzmila also dreams of all her children enjoying a good education and being able to guarantee them a good quality of life.
