A loan of $1,800 helped to create a work area and buy a sewing machine and an iron.

Gona's story

Gona is a 30-year-old married Iraqi woman, a mother of one child. At a very young age she learned how to use a sewing machine and create dresses for herself. As a result, she has 10 years of sewing and tailoring experience.

She uses her skills to contribute to the family's income. From home she works on many sewing orders: from creating dresses to window curtains. She would like to make her work area a bit more comfortable and also buy a sewing machine and an iron to better provide for her customers.

Gona took a loan from Relief International - Iraq to the amount of 1,800 USD to be able to make these purchases.
