The group leader of this small group is Desi M.. She is currently in the business of poultry keeping and is requesting a loan to purchase more poultry feed. Desi is 48 years old and is a widow. She has 5 children ranging from age 6 to 23 and her children go to school. Each week, Desi makes approximately UGX 120000 in profits and with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to to buy a water tank. Desi has taken a loan from BRAC Uganda before in the amount of UGX 400000 in order to invest in her business and the loan was paid back on time.

Desi is joined in her small group by Deborah N., Nusiat N., Hadijah N., and Christine N.. Deborah N. has a business running a retail shop and wants to expand to wholesale. Nusiat N. is currently operating a grocery store business and wants a loan to buy a fridge for cooling fruits. Hadijah N. operates a retail shop business and wants to increase stock. Christine N. is currently in the business of charcoal sales and is requesting a loan to open up a retail shop.
