A loan of $600 helped purchase ceramic tiles for her home.

Amable's story

Amable is 75 years old and lives in a community named Desamparados in the province of San Jose, capital of Costa Rica. This area has a wide range of hotels and offers tourists museums, restaurants, parks, volcanoes, conference centers, modern shopping centers, cinemas, theaters, galleries and a varied nightlife. Among the cultural attractions is the National Theatre, located in the Plaza de la Cultura and opened in 1897, the Gold Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design and the Museum of Children. Some of the most famous festivals and celebrations in the province of San José are the festivities at the beginning and end of each year, such as the Festival of Light in December and the national orchid exhibition in March.

For a few months now, Amable has wanted to make some changes in her home. She has been struggling to do this, because she does not earn a sufficient income and wants to provide a better quality of life for her family.

This is why Amable is seeking a loan in the amount of 300,000.00 (three hundred thousand colones) to purchase building materials to repair the floor of her house, replace it with ceramic tiles to give it a better appearance, and reduce and improve the work at home.

Amable is a member of the communal bank 'Empresa de Crédito Comunal de Rincón Grande S.A', and this will be her sixth loan. She is grateful for the opportunities she has been given to access credit, which help her achieve her life plans.
