Sara is a member of the El Reencuentro Communal Bank. She lives in an area of the parish of Baños in Cuenca. Baños is located at the foot of the western range of the Andes on a site of irregular relief. Large numbers of people move through this parish attracted by the benefits of its hot springs, the majesty of its temple, and the festival of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Its people are pleasant and kind and they maintain the cultures and traditions of their ancestors. The work in commerce, animal rearing, and agriculture for a living.

Sara is 22 years old, married, and has a three-year-old son. Her husband is a storekeeper and the house they live in is rented.

Sara has had a sewing workshop since she was very young where she makes and sells jeans. She has been doing this work for six years from Monday to Saturday without a set schedule.

This is the second loan she is taking out with the communal bank and she's going to invest it in her business by buying raw material such as fabric, thread, zippers, buttons, etc.

Her goal is to have a shop to sell the clothes she makes.
