A loan of $750 helped to buy a photocopier.

Lisa Bonet's story

Lisa, 29, is a young, married woman and together with her husband has two daughters who are 9 months old and 3 years old. She is very happy. She comments that they are the best gift God could have given her. She lives in the city of Mala, a city with extensive, first quality agricultural fields which are complemented by irrigation systems where irrigation canals stand out and that are enormously productive agriculturally.

In her free time, Lisa enjoys playing with her daughters because that relaxes her and above all because it brings her closer to them. Like all good Peruvians, Lisa loves our food and one of her favorite dishes is the very delicious “Estofado de Pollo.” Lisa was only able to study up to fifth grade of secondary school because her parents’ lacked economic means but she would have liked to have studied to become a cosmetologist.

Lisa has a restaurant that she spends about 9 hours daily in and can take care of up to 30 customers per day. She believes that she does well in her business because she makes tasty dishes and because her daughters give her strength to work and work well; they cause her to be more driven to work harder each day.

Lisa is very thankful to Kiva lenders because thanks to their support she will be able to buy a photocopier because across from her business there’s a daycare center and since the school term is about to start they always need to make copies and this will mean extra income for her so that she can continue saving up to reach her greatest dream: “To study a professional career and that her daughters become professionals.”
