A loan of $1,050 helped a member to pay his children’s school fees.

Samuel E.o's Group's story

This is Samuel, Alice, and Moses, workers at the Department of Youth and Sport in Makeni. Because government salaries are usually very small and do not allow workers to do something big, they are seeking a loan from SMT/Kiva lenders to allow them invest in something meaningful. Some will invest their loans in business and others will invest in the education of their children. And at the end of each month, they will repay their Kiva loan, using their monthly salaries.

Samuel is the leader of this group of borrowers. He is fifty-three years of age. He was born in Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone. Samuel is married with three children who are attending secondary schools. His wife is also a monthly wage earner, working for FAWE (Forum for African Women Education) in Freetown. Samuel has worked for the Ministry for twenty-six years now. He has requested this loan in order to pay his children’s school fees.

In this group: Samuel E.o, Alice T. , Moses F.s.
