A loan of $525 helped a member to buy five boxes of ribbons and poplins.

Sope Mohamed Group's story

Sope Mohamed Group is made up of five women who are part of a tontine, a revolving credit association. They get together once a week, club together, and give the money to one of them to support her in her business.

They are all married and sell cosmetics. Their businesses enable them to provide for themselves, but also to support their husband in covering the family's daily expenses.

The group's leader, who is raising her hand in the photograph, is the mother of two children. She opened a tiny shop in front of her home, where she has her products on display.

In order to bolster their working capital, the members of the group are seeking a loan of XOF 250'000, in order to purchase five boxes of ribbons and poplins. They ambition to strengthen their businesses.
