A loan of $400 helped to buy music players and computer accessories, among other items that customers have ordered.

Mohammed's story

Mohammed is a 26-year-old single man and lives in Taiz,Yemen. He sells cell phones, accessories, compact discs, music players and cell phone chargers in a commercial center. He translated his experience into starting his own business in the town where he and his family live.

He began by working in the business with a friend in Sana`a city and, once he gained experience, he started his own business in a location very close to his family using, as working capital, his savings from the earlier job. Initially he began by selling clock accessories and then gradually added other items as his customers requested them. Thus he has earned a profit and he hopes to continue expanding his working capital, which often is insufficient to meet the demand of his clients. This is exactly the reason he has come to AMB requesting a youth loan of 80,000 YER. He will use it to buy music players and computer accessories, among other items that customers have ordered.

In the future, Mohammed hopes to rent another shop and make it an electronics shop.
