A loan of $375 helped to buy merchandise (summer clothing).

Juana Lourdes's story

Juana is a hardworking woman who is very loving. She has 2 children. Although they are 22 and 24, she is a single mother and has gotten her children ahead alone. She tell us that it has been a challenge and she is proud because her children are in college. Juana studied to be a licensed practical nurse. She tells us she likes nursing because it is in her nature to want to care for sick people. Juana, as a good Peruvian, really loves our cuisine and one of her favorite dishes is “Parrillada de Carne” [Grilled Meat].

With a lot of hard work and above all, savings, Juana was able to start her own business. She sells women's, men's and children's clothing. She works for about 10 hours a day and can serve about 15 customers a day. She believes that it is going well in her business because she is very cheerful and charismatic and this inspires trust in her customers. She also offers quality products.

Juana is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since thanks to their help she will able to buy more merchandise (summer clothing) to have more products to offer her customers. With this, she will have more income and be able to keep saving to achieve her biggest dream: giving her children professional careers.
