A loan of $800 helped to buy school supplies for the store.

Wendy Patricia's story

Wendy Patricia, 34, is a single mother of two children who are 8 and 12 years old and who are attending school; she lives in Cuyamel, Cortes. Wendy has had her own business for four years selling a variety of products. She sells clothes like shirts, pants and underwear and also girdles, toys, keepsakes and school supplies. Her store is open from 8:30 until 5pm.

She used to work as a secretary at a private firm but in order to assure her children’s future and to be able to spend more time with them she started this business with her own savings. Needing to keep it well-stocked, she decided to ask for loans. She’s now asking for her third loan to buy school supplies since the school term is about to start at public and private elementary and secondary schools and she wants to avail herself of increased sales. Her goal is to have her own locale because she currently rents and to continue to have her store well-stocked.
