Ghassan is a 38-year-old Lebanese man living with his wife and two children, who are still attending school. He has owned a juice shop in his town for the past eight years. He spends most of his time working, but in the end he knows that he’s offering a fair way of living for his family, and this is what he cares about most. Today, he’s asking for a loan of $1200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase the needed quantity of fresh fruits for his business. He notes that this will improve his business and thus his economic situation. In the future, he plans to expand his business and open a coffee shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
