Elsa Marina's story

Elsa is 51 years old and a single mother of four children between the ages of 10 and 30. She lives with her family in the neighborhood of Suyapa in Santa Cruz de Yojoa.

Elsa Marina works as a cashier at a private company. Being a hardworking woman, she is able to help her children move forward by herself. Eighteen years ago, she used her own funds to establish a business where she sells clothes, shoes, cosmetics, and school supplies. She manages her business between 7am until 8pm. Doña Elsa was able to excel in her business with the profits she earned. In addition, the loans have helped her to remain active. She has requested several loans and this current one in the amount of 15,000 HNL will be invested in school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, pencil sharpeners, backpacks, and uniforms for the current school year.

Her goals are to continue working, succeed financially, and be able to offer a better quality of life and an education to her younger children.
