A loan of $575 helped to buy materials to make aprons, as well as to buy dried vegetables.

Antonia's story

Antonia, 49 years old, is a hard working woman. She lives with Armando, her husband of 23 years. They have 4 children, but only live with one of them, Karina, who they support in their own home, located in the village of Ancala. She takes care of her grandson while she can as her daughter works.

Her main business is making traditional aprons, which the woman use as everyday wear. It is going very well as she travels to different cities to sell them per unit, this is already how she makes the best incomes, but at festivals she sells wholesale as she receives orders. She also works in the buying and selling of dried vegetables, which she takes to the wholesale market in bulk and earns some extra money.

For his part, her husband works in public transport with a bus that he acquired thanks to her work, which he uses to transport the residents of the city of Cochas to the centre of Huancayo. She is very happy as her oldest children always send her an allowance and she likes to see them doing well.

She belongs to the solidarity group "mollecito" and this is the ninth loan with MFP, she is very happy knowing that she will have financial support and feels safe to advance her business. On the other hand, she promises to fulfil her repayments according to the schedule. She is also thankful to be part of her association because all of the members are responsible and caring. On receiving her support, Antonia will invest the requested money in the purchase of materials to make aprons, as well as dried vegetables for her business.
