Khadijeh is a 32-year-old Lebanese woman. She’s married and lives with her husband and three school-age children. She joins forces with her husband in order to cover their life expenses and pay the cost of their children's studies.
Khadijeh opened her own flower shop in 2004; she also has a small clothing area in the shop. Today, she wants to borrow $1,300 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to buy added products for her shop such as flowers and a new collection of clothes. This will certainly increase the number of customers asking for her services and therefore her revenues. In the future, she plans to enlarge her shop by adding diverse kinds of flowers.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
