Zahra is a 43-year-old Lebanese single woman. She lives with her two working siblings. They’re all cooperating together to be able to cover their expenses. As for Zahra, she has been working as a private teacher since 1995 from her home. She’s intelligent and expert in her field. In parallel, she has been teaching in a local school since 1990.
Today, she’s asking for a loan of $1,600 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to build a room where she can teach her students and have some privacy. In that way, she will be able to develop her way of teaching thus her communication with her students. In the future, she plans to open her own learning center.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
