A loan of $600 helped to buy a store to sell meat and vegetables.

Chin's story

Mrs. Chin N., 35, sells meat and vegetables at the Sarm Ki market in Phnom Penh City. Because of her business, she can now help pay her family’s expenses and pay for her children to go to school. She earns about $5 a day and has three children, all of whom are enrolled in school. Her husband, Mr. Kem Sokhorn, drives a three-wheeled motorcycle taxi and earns about $2 a day. To earn a living for their family, she and her husband work hard every day.

Chin is now asking for a loan of $600 to buy a store in Ek Reach II market in Phnom Penh City. This will enable her to move her meat and vegetables business to a better location.

Her husband is pictured in the photo because she was not available at the time the photo was taken.
