A loan of $750 helped to buy more chickens for her poultry business and to stock her new grocery business.

Jacinta's story

Jacinta, 42, is a diligent, hard-working woman with a strong drive to get ahead. She is separated from the father of her children, but they all still live together in a shared house.
Jacinta has a poultry business. She sets up a table in front of her house where she prepares chickens for sale. Her brother raises the chickens on his farm and sells them to her at a discounted price. She has operated the business for almost 6 years and she’s happy with her progress. She says, too, that she can rely on her children to help her with the business. She likes owning her own business, not only because she can pay to send her children—her pride and joy—to school, but also because the business has brought her great personal satisfaction. She saves everything that she can because she wants to open a corner grocery in her house, a business that she thinks will significantly increase her earnings. This will be her third MFP loan and she is counting on your support to meet her goals. She likes her community bank, she says, because the members support one another.
Jacinta will use part of this 2000 new soles loan to buy chickens for her poultry business and the rest to stock her new grocery business.
