A loan of $375 helped buy sawdust to make bricks.

Zenaida's story

Zenaida is 43 years old and is a serious woman; she lives with her husband, Fernando. Together they have 7 children but only 5 live with them in their own home located in the Cullpa Baja area. Zenaida feels fulfilled since thanks to her husband’s and her efforts they were able to acquire a brick factory. She says that everyone helps her, her daughters and sons in law, it is because of this that she feels happy since she is able to bring some support to her family. “The work is very hard and we need a lot of people,” Zenaida says. She has over 20 years of experience in this business and it is because of that, that she is able to have so many steady customers. She makes some 22 thousand bricks a month and sells them at a good price in the factory without having to spend money on transportation. Zenaida wishes to buy new ovens with modern technology since she makes them the old fashioned way, by burning them with help of her family. Zenaida belongs to the “entrepreneurs” community bank and this is her seventeenth loan with MFP and hopes for a small loan to meet her goals and promises pay all of her quotas. She is grateful to be a part of the organization because all of the members are responsible and supportive people. Zenaida after receiving the loan will use the money to buy sawdust to make the bricks.
