A loan of $575 helped buy basic household goods for her store.

Silvia's story

Silvia is 40 years old and is an easy going person. She lives with her 2 sons, Devid and Jack; she takes care of them in their own home located in Cullpa. Silvia is an admirable woman since a short while ago she separated from her husband and has the sole responsibility of educating and caring for her children. It is because of them that she works without rest in the city market where she prepares food for the tourists and workers. She has worked for some 4 years in this field and is very well known by her customers since they know she has good zest. In the afternoons she opens her food store that she opened a year ago and sells meats, vegetable soup, milk and other products. Parallel to this work, as a good country woman, she also breeds cows, pigs, cuyes (a rodent like animal), chickens and turkeys that she sells when she fattens them up. But since her motto is 'constant work' she also makes bricks. She puts the land and her partner puts the clay and green corn husks to burn the bricks. At the end of the month, she has good earnings that help her meet the household expenses as well as her children’s. Silvia belongs to the communal bank “the entrepreneurs” and this is her third loan with MFP, and hopes for a small loan that will allow her to meet her goals, she promises to meet the all of her payment quotas. Silvia is happy to be a part of her communal bank because all of the members are responsible and supportive people. Silvia, after receiving your support will use the money to buy basic household goods for her store.
