A loan of $400 helped to buy raw materials for jewelry shop.

Mamadou's story

Mamadou, who was born in November 1990 in Sikasso, is single and lives in a large traditional family in the prefecture of Sikasso. He began his jewelry business around four years ago and carries it out in a workshop in Sikasso with a customer base made up of people from all social backgrounds. He is in great demand from his customers as a result of the quality of his services.

With a view to responding to ever increasing customer demand, he decided to join the microfinance institution, Soro Yiriwaso, several months ago. In order to boost his business he is requesting his first loan which will allow him to buy raw materials: 500 grams of gold, as well as 10 pieces of silver and zinc, so that he can make jewelry and bracelets.

With this loan he expects to make a monthly profit of 90,000FCFA, which will be used essentially to contribute to his family expenses and to pay the interest on his loan.
