A loan of $575 helped to buy sacks of manure.

Samuel's story

Samuel, 34, is a responsible, hardworking man living in his own house with his wife, Antonia, 34, and their three beloved children who are the reason behind all his efforts.

Samuel strives to give the best of himself and offer his family a good quality of life which is why he works hard in his cocoa bean and coffee fields. Samuel is well aware of the hard work working in the fields entails since he’s been working his own land for 25 years. During harvest time his children help him and day laborers are in charge of harvesting and transporting the picked beans a certain distance to then be transported in an artisanal way. He feels very committed to his work because thanks to his daily effort today he enjoys seeing that his plants bear fruit leading to good profits. He comments that winter is not pleasing to him because these are the months when insects abound that damage crops.

This is MFP loan #1 and he hopes this small loan will help him reach his objectives and he’s determined to make his payments punctually. He will use the 1500 new soles to buy sacks of manure to fertilize his land to make them productive later on.
