A loan of $3,950 helped a member to buy seasonal clothing.

Las Unidas Group's story

The community bank Las Unidas is entering into it's first loan cycle. There are 10 members and they live in the La Guardia area. They run various businesses. The president is Jannel, who is 18 years old and has lived in the area for 4 years. She works selling clothes from her home and also to various institutions including the university. She studies at night and sells her products in the morning. She is a very hardworking and responsible young person as she works at both her business and her studies. She will use the money from the loan to buy seasonal clothing in bulk. She feels very grateful for the micro loan institution for the support that it has offered her to help her be successful as this is the first activity she has taken on to cover her personal expenses and studies.
