A loan of $575 helped to buy sacks of organic fertilizer.

Victor's story

55 year old Victor is a responsible man. He lives alongside Gilceria, his wife of 23 years. They have 4 children, but they only live with Elvis, the youngest, who they look after in their own house which is in Casacancha. They feel happy because their grown-up children help them constantly. Thanks to them, Victor can continue working in agriculture. He grows potatoes, a root vegetable called olluco, and beans in his 4 parcels of agricultural land. As he sows on a large scale, he also leases land from third parties every year. In this way he can work calmly. He already has 20 years of experience selling his crops in the main market in Huancayo where he has regular buyers who offer him good prices for his produce. He also raises animals such as bulls and cows. He raises these and sells them at times when he has economic need. At the moment, he is trying a type of potato that is high quality and very good to eat, and he is sure he will get good returns on this. This is his 12th loan from MFP and he is waiting for their collaboration so that he can realize his plans. He promises to complete his repayments. What is more, his is grateful to be part of the community bank because all the members are responsible and united. On receiving support, Victor will use the money to buy sacks of organic fertilizer to spread around his native potato plants.
