A loan of $750 helped to buy a shelf to store sodas and products to supply her business.

Eduvigis's story

Eduvigis, 47, is a woman separated from her partner. She has seven children but only lives with three of them, ages 21, 15, and 14. Her house is rented and is located in the San Ramón district, province of Chanchamayo.

Eduvigis is an exemplary mother. Despite having separated from the father of her children, she had the courage to confront life and support them with her effort. This is how, five years ago, she opened a small restaurant in the place where she lives.

Currently she offers breakfast and lunch to passers-by. And as her seasoning is well known, she also works cooking for residents of construction companies. "In April the business is more profitable, owing to the beginning of classes," she comments, adding that at that time the professors and students circulate more in her area, eating the food that Eduvigis prepares.

She is anxious to fix the appearance of her business with a few paintings and by acquiring a few new pieces of furniture. In this way she will continue helping her children with paying for their studies.

This will be the twelfth loan she would get from MFP, for which she is committed to being punctual in making her payments. She belongs to Las Heliconias Communal Bank, and the members, women, are close and supportive. She will invest the money in buying a shelf to put sodas inside her restaurant. She also will buy sodas and some food to supply her business.
