A loan of $1,950 helped a member to buy soap and other products to retail.

Oudoucar 01 Group's story

Oudoucar 01 Group was established on May 30, 2008, when the Banc Villageois was inaugurated. It is made up of 16 women coming from the same village. Their main business is retail.

Mrs. Gassama, sitting on the far right, is responsible for the group. She's 58 years old, a widow, and has to support ten of her children.

She resells soap, peanuts, and various other products in her village. She has a good experience in this field, due to the fact that she's been running this business for more than six years. Previously, she was a seasonal cultivator.

This new loan will enable her to buy soap and various other products to retail. With her profits, she intends to improve the standard of living of her children.
